The origin of HIT.

A founder story shaped by rugby, first-hand experience, and the need for better recognition, care, and accountability around head impacts in contact sport.

“HIT aims to recognise the impact event before the warning signs are missed.”

Playing rugby, I’ve seen the effects of head injuries on teammates and fellow players from an up-close perspective. I have witnessed problems from affected players that scare me to action.

Our early research showed a clear gap in youth rugby and contact sports: recognising dangerous head impacts during games and training, before symptoms become obvious and before responsibility falls on instinct alone.

HIT was created to bring greater visibility, faster intervention, and a stronger duty of care to athletes in contact sport.
